Tiger Woods: Bigger, stronger, faster…

Tiger Woods says he is right on schedule with his recovery from knee surgery. He says his leg will be stronger than ever when he returns in 2009.

If Tiger can win the U.S. OPEN with two fractures and a blown ACL, this doesn’t bode well for the rest of the PGA Tour.

Bigger, stronger, faster

Remember Steve Austin, the SIX million dollar man? Geez. Tiger could spend that much on breakfast.

  1. I must confess, much like the rest of the world, I am really looking forward to Tiger’s return. Most people want him back because golf just isn’t golf without Tiger and I think their view makes a lot of sense. But it is interesting to note, in Tiger’s absence, we witnessed the rise of some of the great young golfers and it would be worth watching if they can keep up that tempo once Tiger returns to the fold. Players like Padraig Harrington and Sergio Garcia seem to have turned the corner and to top that we have the like of Anthony Kim and Camillo Villegas making a mark, it promises to be an intriguing 2009 once Tiger returns.

Most would remember, at the start of 2008, Tiger announced, a grand slam was entirely within reason and while that talk was laid to rest with Immelman’s victory at the Masters, the fact that Tiger has clearly identified it as one of his goals, clearly means that he will pursue it with dogged determination. Whether the field will wilt away as usual after sighting the beast in the red outfit on the Sunday of the final round or these boys who seem to have gone up the learning curve can match the Tiger stroke for stroke, makes 2009 a delicious prospect for golfing aficionados.

Wishing you a Happy New Year.

    Kind Regards
