Six days ago I threw my back out. Last time I threw it out, it took two weeks for the pain and spasms to subside and my game was a wreck when I came back.
This week I tried my new inversion table (where you hang upside down like a bat) for the first time, and I’m back on the course already (yesterday) and in the ZONE. I really only felt pain for the first 1-2 days this time, compared to 13-14 last time. I really hope the decompression of the spine on the inversion table is the answer to the back problems…
Yesterday I played 11 holes and shot -3. I had 5 birdies, two on the last two holes. Then today I picked up right where I left off. I played the back nine again. I started out birdie, birdie, par, birdie, birdie. At that point I’d had NINE BIRDIES IN 16 HOLES! By the time I finished #15 and my eighteenth consecutive hole, I was at -7 for that stretch. I ended up -5 for my last 20 holes.
Winter is coming. In fact, it may have arrived on #16 today. It was warm earlier but the winds kicked up and it got cold, fast. Very cold.
I’ll have more info on the inversion table and what it is about, and hopefully many more birdies to brag about soon.
How many golf hats do you have? If you are like me, that is a triple digit number. I can’t go anywhere in my house, garage, car, bathroom, deprivation chamber… without tripping over a golf hat.
I’ve been trying to figure out some way of storing all these billions of hats without smashing them and ruining their shape. I finally found the Ikea Skubb. This $6.99 closet organizer is perfect for storing golf hats. The Skubb (who thinks of these names?) hangs from the bar in the closet and extends 47 inches down, 6 inches across and has 10 individual compartments which are almost 14 inches deep.
If I store my hats with the back half folded in, I can easily store three hats per chamber. If I cram them in I could insert 4-5 easily. So one Skubb could hold 30-50 hats.
Next Ikea post
Stay tuned for my next post related to Ikea, which involves deciphering the stick figure drawings in their assembly instructions: “No humping a broken desk with one hand behind your back…”
I was just bragging posting about the 11,000th image in the HOG photo gallery recently. I just realized now that there’s another thing to brag about mention: 2500 posts.
Yes, I’ve posted 2500 golf blogs here. Once again, I figure if I post 2500 golf blogs 1-2 of them may be good, if not just by the sheer randomness of blind luck…
Enough said. Now onto the next 2500.
Today is Ernie Els’ 40th birthday.
Happy birthday Ernie. Glad you modeled your swing after mine.
With the last image added to the HOG Photo Gallery of Nessie the Loch Ness Monster, the gallery has now reached the 11,000 mark!
I have 12 main categories in the gallery from golf equipment to Tiger Woods to golf courses to random, where I post bizarre photos like the one to the right.
I figure if I shoot 11,000 pictures, one or two may turn out to be good shots if not just by accident. Even a blind squirrel finds a nut now and then.
I’ll keep shooting and remember, “No smoking or alcohol in the toddler zone…”
