Nick Faldo goes gaga over Tiger’s shots so much I bet he has to bring a change of underwear to the announcer’s booth. Just a thought.
So the WGC-Amex Championship ends with two tied at the top. Tiger and Daly…. Just what the doctor ordered!
Tiger launches his tee shot on the first playoff hole 346 yards into the first cut right of the fairway. Then Daly casually whacks one 357 yards down the middle but didn’t even watch it because he was too busy picking up his cigarette off the tee box. Could these guys be any different, personality and “body-temple” wise?
On the 2nd playoff hole sadly Daly misses a 3 foot putt that would have sent them off to a 3rd. It really should not have ended that way, and you could tell Tiger felt bad for JD. JD just got a little too careless and quick on that putt and should have taken a few more seconds to size it up. But that’s the way he operates and you can’t argue with his latest run of success.
This victory marks the “already player of the year” Tiger’s 6th of the season. What a hack.

While browsing The Sand Trap golf forum, I came across a thread covering the new Natalie Gulbis 2006 calendar. I’m always looking for excuses to put cute women in bikinis in a golf blog post so this seemed like a great opportunity to do that.
I must say the “new direction” the LPGA Tour seems to be heading is a big improvement. But really, Natalie Gublis looks much more cute and intriguing in her golf skirt and hat than in a bikini. Is the all mighty dollar THAT important?
I played in a 27 hole tournament with my pop today. How did we play as a team? Let’s just say the weather was great and the course was beautiful and leave it at that.
I’m home checking my email and making sure my sites haven’t been hacked and I get a phone call. The guy calling is a buddy who I play with several times per week. He and my other golf buddy are on the 17th hole at a local course here called Meadowbrook. (Every city has a “Meadowbrook” golf course doesn’t it?). They’d called to let me know that the one guy (Al), just got a hole in one!
I told him since they notified me via the cell phone that made me a “phone witness” and he’d have to buy me a beer when we golf tomorrow…
By the way, this is the 7th hole in one for old Al.
Today is a fun tournament I’m playing with my pop at his club. His club has been voted the best course in the state, and IS the best course in the state in my opinion.
The format is 9 holes best ball, 9 holes alternate shot, 9 holes scramble. Surprisingly we’ve won this thing a few times and we beat everyone on the alternate shot and best ball. We don’t scramble all that well.
The 18th hole is a long par 5, but they’re redesigning it so it is no longer a 500+ yard uphill hole. It’s a temp green par 3 today.
