PGA TOUR

“Mo money Sabbatini”

I’ve been waiting to say that for quite some time. Remember that from the Nike commercial where Duval smashes out Tiger’s car window?

Sabbatini and his “unique” swing held up today and he notched victory at the Nissan Open. At least one of my fantasy players did well.

Freddy

Saturday Fred Couples put on an awesome golf show. Today he played well too. It’s been nice to see Freddy striking the ball so well. And his swing looks so much like mine…nice and smooth. 🙂

CHAMPIONS TOUR

The boss of the moss Loren Roberts today became the first person to start out a Champions Tour season with 3 victories. Roberts is sending an early Christmas card to Hale Irwin for knocking his approach on the final hole in the drink.

LPGA TOUR

Joo Mi Kim sank a two foot birdie putt on the second playoff hole Saturday to defeat fellow Korean Soo Young Moon in the LPGA’s opener, the SBS Open.

Tiger withdraws and sends fantasy leagues into a tailspin

For the first time Tiger has withdrawn from a tournament due to illness. I wonder if he’d have withdrawn if he had an umbrella during the previous round’s downpour?

Like mine, I’m sure many fantasy teams are in shock that their A player is now gone…

Tiger unprepared Friday

I find it absolutely amazing that Steve and Tiger where caught in a rain storm Friday at Riviera with NO UMBRELLA. By the time they made it into the house they were drenched from head to toe.

Professional caddies carry huge tour bags with everything from medical tape to contact lens solution in them. But they don’t carry umbrellas?

Perhaps Tiger will fire Stevie and hire me. I could use 10% of roughly 10 million bucks per year. I wouldn’t forget the umbrella.

I bet your golf game has never gone this far South

My pop just got back from a trip to Antarctica. When I asked him what made him decide to go on a trip to Antarctica his answer was “it’s Summer there.” OK. Fair enough.

Ushuaia Golf 3

While looking at penguins and glaciers he ran across this neat golf course in the town called Ushuaia in Southern Argentina. This is near Cape Horn at the bottom of South America where the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans meet. Latitude: 54° 47′ South. Longitude: 68° 20′ West.

Ushuaia MapUshuaia golf course is the most Southern golf course in the world. You have views of glaciers from the course and apparently it’s a tough bugger because of the local winds.

Pop was able to snap a couple of pictures and snag me a sleeve of golf balls for my logo rack. I don’t think many golfers have one of these logo balls.

Eat Riviera

When things go quiet over at my buddy Rich’s golf blog, eatgolf.com, you know something is brewing. You know he’s working on something cool and probably pulling some all nighters working on it.

Riviera CC #1 Tee

Turns out Rich has been at Riviera attending the Nissan and taking “tons” of pics. He’s got a killer pic page of all the holes at Riviera now, but it took him some work getting them all taken. And if you’re wondering what amenities Riviera has, what the range is like, and even what the weather conditions are right now there, you can get that info on the page as well. Nice job Eat.

Eat, if you get a chance to stand on the tee when Tiger hits a drive, tell us if you’re able to get any oxygen or if his club speed sucks all the air out of your lungs.
