Coming soon… Web Country Club

I’m quite an addict when it comes to certain things. When I dive into something, it is all the way and head first! I had fun setting up Pro Sound Blog, and a few other sites. I now have started on a new web journey: WEB COUNTRY CLUB (www.webcountryclub.com).

I’ve registered the web name, arranged and host and now just switched the name servers over (that’s web Greek for “you should be able to surf there now”). There’s nothing there yet but there will be.

I envision a golfer’s site with various cool golf related items such as News (pga, lpga, golf business or whatever), the golf blog of course, course reviews by me (and other users), travel, web forum groups/discussions, stat tracker, buy/sell/trade, and whatever other features YOU my friend suggest that I like.

I’ve already done a bit of research on ecommerce and may set up some online shopping there. I’ve made a connection for gear and we’ve come to a very tentative verbal agreement. My connection is a dealer in all the MAJOR brands like Titleist, Callaway, Taylor Made, Hogan and more. I’ll basically move product for him on the web at my site! This may all be WAY down the road but to quote Gary McCord “you have to have a plan.”

So here is your assignment my golf friend: Think about what YOU would like to have on your favorite golf related web site. When you have it, let me know your ideas. Thanks!

Flo, gin is a sin. I golf.

Turn this sentence around backwards and what does it spell?

I cashed in the last of my tournament winnings today at one of my favorite local courses called River Oaks. I’ll write up a review of River Oaks in the future.

I bought my pop some really nice golf stuff. Hope he likes it. Oh, I couldn’t resist getting myself some very nice golf pants as well…

Inversion
Originally uploaded by mediaguru.

During the Winter time here in Salt Lake we get this phenomenon called an “inversion.” This is where high pressure squashes the cold, moist, polluted air and forces it to the lowest altitude. The valley acts like a soup bowl containing the foggy air. At a certain elevation you can drive up a road and right into a cloudless sunny day. Drive back below the soup level and you’re in the fog again.

When the inversion happens the temp is cold and the ground stays frozen. The air quality is terrible and it really makes my eyes sore. Last year we had 21 straight days of this soup.

The soup stays until wind or precipitation washes it away.
