I’ve played a few cool courses in the Orlando area. I usually get 2-3 rounds in while at the PGA Merchandise Show in January of every year. One time though, I did the 2.5 hour drive to PGA Tour headquarters and played the TPC Sawgrass. That course is I recommend everyone play at least once in your lifetime to see what the course is like.

I’m at the grocery store the other day picking up grub, so I can nourish and strengthen myself for good golf blogging. With three food eating machines (teenagers) in the house, I usually get bulk or large bags of cereal. But this time around I couldn’t resist buying a box of Post Cereal. Why? Because Paul Azinger was on the box. It caught my eye in an isle with hundreds of cereal boxes. Congratulations Post. Your Zinger campaign has netted you one extra sale.
The images on this box are sort of funny. I’m not sure if it is just the angle of the image or what, but Paul’s head looks a little over-sized. This image shows what I’m talking about even more than the one above.
Apparently there’s some contest Post is having where you can win a golf trip, including a round with Paul Azinger. So I bought the box thinking “what the hell? It would be fun to golf with Paul Azinger and show him what a low draw looks like.” Well, I accidentally threw away the box when I was done eating the cereal without entering the damn contest. Oh shoot. I’ll have to teach Zinger the low draw some other time.
Yes, you can note the items in my cart: Milk (for the cereal), Paul Azinger Post Cereal and extra virgin olive oil. Those are the three staples of life, right?
I was going to write some golf blog posts today, but I slept in…
I like Jim Furyk. He’s a gritty player (#3 in the world) and seems like a nice cat. Apparently he made a little boo boo this week though. He uses his cell phone for his alarm in the morning, but his battery died. He missed his Wednesday morning pro-am tee time at the Barclays by five minutes. That made him NE (not eligible) for the tournament.
Quick math
I did some quick math. Furyk has made $3,308,872 in 18 tournaments this year. That averages $183,826.22 per tournament. So he arguably missed out on $183,826.22 based on those numbers.
I can’t imagine being in a situation where I’d lose $183,826.22 if I slept in. The worst it is for me when I sleep in is that my automatic coffee has already shut off and I have cold coffee in the morning.
