malibu toffeeThanks to my friends at Malibu Gourmet Toffee for sending in some samples for me to review.  Golf and toffee.  I see the connection.   The stuff just showed up in my mail box one day.  One day it is martini shaped golf tees, the next day it is toffee.   Unfortunately Malibu Toffee didn’t contact me in advance to find out that I don’t like nuts.

As much as I wanted to eat some of this beautiful looking hand made toffee, I had to give that tough assignment to my 11 year old daughter.  She gladly took on this tough gig and gobbled it all up.  I’m not really sure she even chewed it.  She may have just inhaled it.

I asked her to tell me what her opinion was of the toffee so I could post her comments and she gave a single word reply:  “Elegant.”

I have a few more pics of the toffee here.

A few posts back I said that the next tournament Tiger would likely play after the match play would be at Doral:

“My money is on Tiger returning for Doral at this point…”

Tiger has now announced that he will be playing at Doral next week.

I’m 2 for 2 in Tiger tournament predictions this year.

Is there such a thing as love at first sight with golf balls? OOOHH la la! Her measurements are 340-325-335.. No those aren’t the measurements a severely overweight coed golfer. Those are some of the drive lengths I achieved when I put the new Bridgestone B330RX into play for the first time.

bridgestone b330-rx

My local pro shop is sold out of B330-RX’s. They’re flying off the shelves. The word is out that this ball is freakin’ awesome.

Technology

The B330RX is a multi-layer (3) golf ball optimized for amateur players with a swing speed less than 105 MPH. That is me, less than 105. Freddy Couples on the other hand, is around 118 MPH. Tiger? 125. So the B330-RX would NOT be the right ball for them.

Perhaps GolfNow.com should change their name to MaybeGolfSometimePossiblyIfWeGetAroundToIt.com

A blogger friend of mine was telling me back in January that he was having some decent revenue results as a result of joining the GolfNow.com program. He suggested I sign up. Since this site takes a pretty penny out of my personal pocket to keep it running I thought I’d give their program a shot. I can use whatever revenue I can get in this economy and with the expenses I have.

On February 2nd I signed up for the GolfNow.com program. I didn’t receive anything from them for a while. No email confirmation, nothing. So around February 10th I sent in an email to a contact email I found on the site. I didn’t get a response to that email for until the 13th. The response was an email saying that the person I’d emailed was no longer with the company and to contact someone at another email. Ok fine.

On the 16th I got a response from a human! It only took 14 days. Nobody is perfect I guess. That person told me I’d missed the monthly deadline. They’d try and approve it sooner, but if not I’d have to wait until the 1st of March to be approved. My comment at that time was “I guess GolfNow isn’t in a big hurry to make money with new affiliates!” That was a bit of a jab to let them know in a fun sort of way that they were dragging their feet.

It is now March 4th and I’ve received nothing. No email. No contact. Maybe if someone there happens to read this blog they’ll kick it in the ass for me. Or maybe they’re just plain not interested in signing up one of the top golf blogs in our solar system.

Perhaps GolfNow.com should change their name to MaybeGolfSometimePossiblyIfWeGetAroundToIt.com. I know that would be a bit of a long URL but you know, it has a ring to it. I did some checking and surprisingly that URL is available!
