A quick post from road on the HOG world tour
Greetings from Las Vegas. Just played Reflection Bay today. The TPC of Vegas is tomorrow and then I’ll be back to HOG world headquarters for more regular golf blogging.
Natalie Gulbis’ House
I saw Natalie Gulbis’ house today. I knocked on her door to ask her face to face why she hasn’t returned my phone calls. Nobody home.
105 in the shade
It is hot here.
Greetings from Annaheim California. I’ve been hanging down here on the beach for a few days, taking a very needed vacation with my kids. I’m a bit sunburned in the non golf-tan areas like the tops of my feet and my scalp!
About the picture on the right: I have my Bobby Jones hat on to protect my burned scalp, my new Adidas sunglasses (review coming soon), my King Golf Royal T shirt, my Otterbox 3500 case to protect my valuables from the sand and sea, and my Taylormade Backpack to carry it all in!
Yesterday found us at Knott’s Berry Farm, riding all the awesome roller coasters. Today we’ll be back south at Laguna Beach. Tomorrow it is looking like perhaps the San Diego Zoo, or maybe checking out LA, Beverly Hills and Hollywood. It has been a while since I pulled into Ricardo Montalban’s driveway and yelled “Khaaaaaaaaaaaannnnn!”
My hotel’s free internet connection has been down about 50% of the time I’ve been here, but strangely the $10/day connection seems to be up and running fine. So my blog posts have been a bit more sparse than normal.
I get home Friday night about midnight. I have enough time Saturday to wash the sand out of my clothes for my departure on Sunday. I’m heading to Vegas to spend some time with my friends at Las Vegas Golf Adventures. I’m going to be evaluating and blogging about their services, checking out Harrah’s and evaluating out two Vegas golf courses: Reflection Bay and the TPC of Las Vegas.
In this post, The Golf Chick tells of a playing parnter’s tan line tragedy. Her partner apparently golfs enough to have what my friends and I affectionately call a “golfer’s tan.” A golfer’s tan would be a tan face, tan arms and tan legs. Kristen says “don’t let this happen to you.” I respectfully disagree.
Tragedy or triumph?
I do not consider this a tragedy at all. The more defined a golfer’s tan line the more triumphant and impressive it is. I just shot my feet here in my hotel room in Southern California to show how impressive my golf tan is. Keep in mind I’ve been out in the sun for a couple of days in my flip-flops so the white part of my feet has tanned a bit. The distinction between my white feet and tan legs was even greater a few days ago.
Be sure to tune in and watch all my pals like my good buddy George Brett, John Elway and Michael Strahan compete on the golf course this weekend. The Pro Sports Team Challenge is a competition between stars from baseball, football, basketball and hockey and will be on Saturday and Sunday this weekend on Fox Sports Net.
You’ll have to check your local listings for times. Trying to find out any information about this event on the Team Challenge web site or by googling Fox Sports Net won’t result in any solid times or channels.
UPDATE: The Team Challenge web site now has a link which can help find channels and times. Click here to search for program times.
My other site is The Golf Space at www.thegolfspace.com. The Golf Space is a “golf social networking” site. The Golf Space is what some have called “golf’s version of facebook” or what I’ve termed “myspace for golfers only without the strippers.”
At The Golf Space members have free golf profiles, blogs, photo galleries, golf handicaps/stats, events calendar and many other fun activities geared specifically for golfers.
3,000,000 unique visitors
TGS just logged the three millionth visitor. The jump from three million visitors was about six times faster than the jump from one million to two million. The site is blowing up!
