Yes, the blogs and golf media are buzzing with the Sergio love. Garcia has moved up to #2 in the world past Phil Mickelson. Good for Sergio. The gap between #1 and #2 in the world is about as big as the 18th green at Bay Hill though.
Sergio is #1
- There’s no doubt that Sergio is the #1 golfer without a major. And I still bet anyone a frosty beer that he’ll never win a major. Perhaps he’ll mature and find a way to get over that big hurdle like Phil did. At that point I’ll owe a few people some beers.
- Sergio is hands down the #1 “spitter in the hole” though. And nobody denies the completely inconsiderate and classless act of spitting into a golf hole better than Sergio does. Yup. Golf is a game of honor…
It has taken me almost three hours of clicking and reading to go through the golf blogs in the HOG Links. I went through and checked them all and deleted all the ones which have been inactive for more than six months or just didn’t exist anymore. If you have a blog, I recommend doing the same to help the bots feast on fresh golf blog food.
Among the sadly ignored blogs which were apparently left for dead was the USGA blog, with a last update of January 2, 2008. You see many entities like this try to jump on the blogwagon but they just don’t get it. Just “having” a blog doesn’t cut the mustard folks. Ya gotta work the thing.
Another sad find, was that the Reluctant Jam Boy has hung up his golf blog caddie bib. Sorry to see him go, again.
A not-so-sad deletion was the Wie-Blog, with the most recent post being “Wie to attend Stanford next year.”
I didn’t even notice this until recently, but I’ve surpassed the 2000 golf blog post mark!
With that many golf blog posts, one of them is bound to be decent.
I’m getting ready to either change the name of Hooked On Golf Blog to Hooked On Food Blog, or start a whole new blog dedicated to food. Since introducing the “lifestyle” section here, I’ve been swamped with some incredible culinary products. Wait a minute… forget all of that. I should start up Hooked On Hot Babes Blog… I digress.
Are you a bachelor or just a crappy cook who thinks macaroni and cheese is gourmet? Is Top Ramen considered the 7th food group? Read on.
Hitching Post Products has a very cool product/service. They make complete high quality meals or individual food dishes which they ship to you. All you have to do in order to prepare them is boil water. I realize boiling water may be difficult, but if I figured it out so can you. The meat items are open flame BBQ’d over a red oak fire pit and seasoned. Woa.
Last night I was in full on bachelor mode. I looked at the case of Top Ramen I bought at Costco and thought…nope. I thought of making a PB&J, but that wasn’t’ going to go with the merlot I was enjoying. Frosted Flakes don’t go well with merlots either…. Then I remembered I had a steak dinner in my freezer. This was my chance to test out the stuff the Hitching Post sent me.
New York steak & garlic bread, preparation in 15-20 minutes
Not much golf blogging today for me. I’m recovering from the intense game last night where my Utah Utes beat TCU 13-10 in the last seconds of the game. What an incredible victory to improve to 10-0 and on track to another BCS busting season.
Last night’s game was a “black out” which meant all the fans were to wear black:
