Tiger Woods announced today that he won’t be playing in the tournament he has hosted the last nine years, the Cheveron World Challenge.

“I am extremely disappointed that I will not be at my tournament this week.  I am certain it will be an outstanding event and I’m very sorry that I can’t be there.”

This is probably good on all accounts, for Tiger and the players.  Tiger probably isn’t ready to face the media and the circus which would no doubt happen at this event.  Me either.  My right forefinger is tired from clicking on all the Tiger headlines…

Real pity he not gonna be playing. I think what makes it worse is that most of the big name players went to play is his tournament and decided to skip the Nedbank golf Challenge here is SA, which is dubbed as “Africa’s Major.” But sure both the Cheveron World Challenge and Nedbank Challenge will be great.
