My Utah Utes play Alabama in the Sugar Bowl

I was hoping my Utah Ute football team (12-0 baby) would be playing in the Fiesta Bowl.  That way I could play some golf in Arizona, say hello to a few friends there and have a good time.

That plan is axed now since the Utes are in the Sugar Bowl on Jan 2 in New Orleans.  I guess I’ll be watching my team play from the comfort of my couch.

  1. Well, since I just played three days of golf in Alabama and live in SEC territory, I’ll make you a bet on the game.

Loser writes a guest post and links back to the winner’s blog.

How ’bout them Utes now 😉

  2. I’m guessing my Utes will be 7-10 point underdogs. Haven’t seen a line yet. It will be a good thing to “really” test the Utes. In the last BCS busting season with Urban Meyer as our coach, we played Pittsburg and kicked their asses. We feel that year the Utes could have played anyone.

Finally we’ll have a real test, against a team that was #1 for much of the season. ‘Bama has everything to lose and nothing to gain, where the Utes have a win/win regardless.

I’ll still take your action though. 🙂

  3. Great !

Looking forward to the game and good luck to your Utes !

Most of the time, teams find out just how deep and talented an SEC team is on the first series … just ask Ohio State 😉

On the other hand, Utah is undefeated and a very formidable opponent.

  4. Alabama my be surprised by the Utes. We’ve beaten three top 25 teams this year. It’s gonna be fun.
