Paul Casey Out With Dislocated Shoulder

Paul CaseyI feel bad for Paul Casey.  He just dislocated his shoulder snowboarding.  Not the best thing to happen for a player just before the season starts. I’m surprised that a player who has so much on the line money wise would take the risk.

I’ve dislocated my left shoulder several times and I can say from experience that it isn’t fun.  Plus, the shoulder is never the same.  The more times you dislocate it, the higher the likelihood it will happen again.

“I am very frustrated as I was really looking forward to getting off to a fast start in 2012.  The good news is the experts I’ve seen say I don’t need surgery and, having already started my rehabilitation exercises, I should be back hitting balls in a few weeks.” ~Paul Casey

Casey will be out several weeks.  My guess is probably 6-8 weeks based on my own experience.

This tournament has a habit producing injuries to the top professionals. Geoff Ogilvy injured his finger last year in the corals at the beach. I also read that Lucas Glover has done a similar thing at the same venue.

I agree these guys should not be taking any chances especially this early in the season.
