Tiger Woods has withdrawn from THE PLAYERS after shooting 42 on the front nine. 2011 marks the 2nd year in a row that Tiger Woods has withdrawn at the TPC Sawgrass Stadium Course.

Tiger was limping around the front nine, figuratively and literally. He started out with a bogey on #1, then made a triple bogey on #4 followed by bogeys on #5 and #9.

It appears that Tiger Woods has not yet recovered from the medial collateral ligament injury in the left knee, or the strained achilles tendon.

Today’s WD will surely fuel the discussion fire as to wether or not Tiger will break Jack Nicklaus’ major record. At this point, that shouldn’t even be discussed. Can Tiger win anything with the current state of his game and physical problems?

Tiger Woods has been defeated, not by golf competetors, but by politics. This is a loss to the game and fans. I was there in Florida when the incident went down and watched what happened. An event that could have been kept quiet, was blown out of proportion by the local police. Too bad.

I understand that Tiger has had a challenging 18 month run of “bad luck” and “bad judgements.” However, is it time to have a serious and far reaching discussion about the possibilty of PED’s being the culprit? Not trying to be a trouble maker, but how many more “sign posts” do we need to see to put two and two together?

It´s a great pity whats going on with Tiger, but what shell he do? If i were Tiger, i would stop playing golf for a longer time and focus on other things. I think, the pressure is too much for him and the expectations are to high for the ex no. 1 in golf. Maybe its time for retirement…i don`t hope so, but i would understand it….
