Brett Wetterich leads Phil Mickelson by two and Tiger Woods by three shots going into Monday’s final round at the Deutsche Bank Championship. Wetterich and Arron Oberholser are in the final group.

Tiger/Phil Pairing

Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson are going to play in the 2nd to last group Monday. The press and TV coverage will be in love with that nugget.

Wetterich playing last year’s model Titleist ProV1-x?

On the 18th Wtterich had an eagle chip. The TV camera zoomed right into his ball, close enough to easily read the lettering. He’s playing LAST YEAR’S model of the Titleist ProV1-x, with the dash in the middle. No A.I.M. line.

I’m playing newer Titleists than Brett is. You’d think a paid Titleist ball player would be playing the latest and greatest, wouldn’t you? Did he just happen to have those in the bag or is there some quality about last year’s model he likes better than the current?

Very interesting about Brett’s Pro-V1x. I wish they’d name them Pro-V2x, Pro-V3x, etc each time they change them. (I realize they always adjust a dot or the arrow or whatever but isn’t each concatenation a completely different golf ball? One season you love the Pro-V1 but the next season you love the Pro-V1x and the next the Pro-V1 – the golf shop has a dozen which one do you buy?
