The guys at sportsbloggerslive.com are having me on as a guest to talk about the U.S. Open tonight! I guess I didn’t flame out as bad as I thought because they’re having me on a 2nd time. We’ll be talking about the U.S. OPEN and the nuclear meltdown.
I’ll be on at about 7:45pm Eastern.

I couldn’t agree more this time. That meltdown today was completely idiotic and COULD HAVE BEEN AVOIDED. Why didn’t someone like Bones (Phil’s caddie) tell Phil to bunt a 3 iron down the fairway on 18? Better yet, why didn’t PHIL think of it?
I wonder what kind of long term effect this will have on Phil. Will he still win a bunch more majors? I wonder at this point… Combine Phil’s talent with Jim Furyk’s brain and you’ve got a U.S. Open championship instead of a tie for 2nd.

Hat’s off to Geoff Ogilvy though. He played very well. He overcame the sanded divot on 18 and made a GREAT up-and-down which ended up winning the tournament for him.
And I really watched Ogilvy’s swing today. It’s very solid. He could win many more…
Geoff Ogilvy adds Phil to his Christmas card list

I’m absolutely stunned at the NUCLEAR MELTDOWN Phil just had on 18. This an all time meltdown of historical proportions.
Ogilvy had better send Phil a Christmas card this year. On second thought, Ogilvy had better even bump it up from a card to a sausage gift basket.

Phil has now put his 3rd shot on 18 in the greenside bunker. Fried egg city. He HAS to get up and down for a playoff. He has all but HANDED the U.S. OPEN to Geoff Ogilvy by making terrible decisions on the last hole.
He should have NEVER hit driver off the tee on 18. All he had to do was bunt three 8 irons onto the green and make par to win, bogey to tie. This is an all time meltdown on the last hole. It’s absolutely shocking.
Can he do it?….Oh man now he has to chip in from the rough.
THIS IS ALL OUT STUPIDITY. IT’S AMAZING. IT’S SHOCKING. IT’S SAD.

Man how Phil has managed to hang onto the lead and only hit 2 fairways is amazing. But he’s not hanging on by much of what he’s doing, it’s by the fact that the other players are all backing up…
OMG! Phil just knocked it off the hospitality tent!….. The horror..
