Superlight technology is one of the big buzzes this year at the PGA Show. Lighter and lighter club heads and shafts. But Boccieri Golf is going the other way. They’re going heavy with their whole line. In this video interview below from the 2011 PGA Show, we discovery why.
After spending a couple of days slicing up HD video tape with a rusty razor blade, and taping it back together with golf club impact tape, the final cut of the 2011 Battle Of The Golf Blogs is done. Due to YouTube’s 15 minute limit, I had to leave a few scenes on the cutting room floor, so the “directors cut” of the movie may be available some time down the road…
The Battle Of The Golf Blogs is now in its 3rd year. This year was to be a tie breaker between myself and Dave Lair of the Orlando Golf Blog. I won the inaugural year and Dave won last year. But this year, we’ve grown the tournament field by over 100%, by adding our pals Rob Hayashida from Sandbox8, John Duval from Into The Grain and spotter/sticker Lindsay Dolamore.
Unfortunately I had to WD from the tournament due to my shoulder separation which occurred during a freak ski crash in the parking lot at Alta ski resort.
Who will be the champion golf blogger for 2011? Who will win the “Lefty Challenge?”
Yes I’m still cranking out my videos of this year’s show, a week later. I have so many I didn’t want to post them all at the same time.
So here are my VERY good friends at Tattoo Golf. As you can tell, I like skulls. These guys are the kings of putting skulls on golf gear. Go to Tattoo Golf and buy a bunch of stuff and support these cool guys!
Tattoo Golf is also a confirmed sponsor of HOG Space fantasy golf. They’ll be providing some of their killer products as prizes. Sign up (free) and win some of their gear.
With a separated shoulder at the PGA Show, there were many things I couldn’t do. Shooting pictures and video was difficult. But thanks to my new GoPro HD video camera, I was able to shoot some virtual tours of booths at the show by simply mounting the camera to my cranium and walking around.
Below is a virtual tour of the Callaway booth, complete with a walk-around of the amazing Callaway Ferrari.
I stopped by the Srixon/Cleveland Golf booth at this year’s PGA Show and interviewed my buddy John about the new Z-Star X and Z-Star XV golf balls. The yellow Z-Star is improved, and the XV is a new ball for 2011.
