The HOG World Tour has been a “thing” now for 10+ years. I’ve traveled to many cool places and experienced golf around the world in some tremendous locations. I thought it would be cool to document all of the places I’ve played golf somehow. Being a web developer by day, I thought of coding an interactive map with markers on it to show all the courses. At this point I have entered 172 points on the map and I’m fairly sure I’ve forgotten a bunch. Check out the map here: https://www.hookedongolfblog.com/hog-world-tour.
Down the road (so to speak) I may be able to put other things on the map, like resorts or cool places, represented by different icons.
I’ll be adding some new features and items to the map soon so stay tuned.
Just found out the site Contact form was not working. Not sure how long that’s been going on, but it should now work. Send me a note. 🙂
Winter project 2016-2017 is an update, facelift, game improvement if you will, to the website. It has been I think 3 years since the last one. I’m making it cleaner and even more mobile friendly than it currently is.
I hope to roll the new changes out before the Masters. Wait, how about during Masters week? Ohh sounds like a good idea.
For a little while you may see a notice in your browser that says “site not secure” or something like that. I’m converting the site to HTTPS (secure) versus HTTP. It will take a while to convert all the internal links to HTTPS so you may see those notices. Not to worry. I don’t have your credit card information!
As we wrap up 2016 it is time for the 2016 Hooked on Golf Blog Year-End Awards. In the next few blog posts I’ll be posting the HOG best of the best in a few hand-picked categories like best golf club(s), best golf course, best apparel item, best golf accessory and so forth.
The envelopes please…
