It’s been a while since I did a report on my “other” golf site, The Golf Space at www.thegolfspace.com. “TGS” is a golf social networking community site, like facebook or myspace, only it’s designed specifically for golf. The Golf Space provides a free hub for golfers, golf businesses and golf courses to connect and network. Each member has his or her own videos, blogs, photos, networking tools, golf matchmaker, forums, handicap, golf stats, scorekeeper and more.
1.5 Million Golf Visitors
Since opening during Masters week 2006, The Golf Space has now had over 1,500,000 visits to the site. Visits are “unique” individuals, not “hits” which likely would be in the neighborhood of 40-50 million. That’s an average of about 68,000 visitors per month. Given the fact that there was pretty much no traffic at the beginning, I’m sure that 68K is a very low average estimate now.
The best way networking site can succeed is by having more members. The same weekend that the 1.5 millionth visitor hit, the 3000th member signed up!
There are golf social networking members from nearly every continent in the world. Some are golf nuts, golf courses, golf businesses, professional players and even some caddies from the home of golf: St. Andrews!
Speaking of my golf videos…
I’m happy to say that my two video features with master club maker Jesse Ortiz can be found on the Bobby Jones Golf web site!
The first video (below), featuring the new Bobby Jones driver can be found here.
The second video (below), covers the new wedges which are a collaboration between Jesse Ortiz and short game guru Dave Pelz. The wedge video can be found here.

How much do you really know about Greg Norman? I thought I knew just about everything until I read Greg’s book The Way Of The Shark: Lessons on Golf, Business, and Life.
If you’re like me here’s all you thought there was to know about Greg Norman:
1. He won the British Open twice.
2. He was the #1 golfer in the world for roughly 330 weeks.
3. He has high end apparel brand.
4. He has a golf course design business.
5. He lost the Masters to Nick Faldo after bringing a six shot lead into Sunday in 1996.
6. He’s Australian.
There’s much more…
The Green Blazer has the quote of the week:
“Michelle Wie turns 18. Pedophiles lose interest.”
