Craig Johnson’s Interlink Golf Systems (IGS) is a six DVD set of golf instructional videos, drills and techniques. The system has over nine hours worth of golf instruction, which is one reason getting my review busted out took me a long time.
Great Production
Since my “other” expertise is in CD/DVD duplication and audio/visual production, the first thing I notice when I receive a package like this is the quality of the product, packaging, production, print etc. The IGS packaging, discs, production and print are top quality. The case is an awesome DVD case which holds six discs yet takes up the space a single disc case would occupy.
The video quality and content is very high quality and the audio clear as a bell. It’s not that easy to get good audio on productions like this, especially when you’re filming outside and there’s some wind.
Start To Finish
Starting with DVD #1, the viewer learns all the IGS basics of golf from the very beginning. Grip, stance, posture, alignment and every basic component of the swing are covered from ground zero to help build a foundation for learning the IGS system.
Through the rest of the six DVD’s the viewer learns everything he needs to play golf in a more simplified manner.
How much do you really know about Greg Norman? I thought I knew just about everything until I read Greg’s book The Way Of The Shark: Lessons on Golf, Business, and Life.
If you’re like me here’s all you thought there was to know about Greg Norman:
1. He won the British Open twice.
2. He was the #1 golfer in the world for roughly 330 weeks.
3. He has high end apparel brand.
4. He has a golf course design business.
5. He lost the Masters to Nick Faldo after bringing a six shot lead into Sunday in 1996.
6. He’s Australian.
There’s much more…

My pal Travis at Golden Plane has made a really cool, portable swing analysis device which allows you to see your swing plane from the golf ball’s perspective. This system is much better than using vertical mirrors or video cameras as you can make adjustments to your plane while in the actual position you’d be addressing the ball. Using vertical mirrors you have to turn your head, which you don’t do in the golf swing.
My pal David shows a COOL automated driving range system. The system tees up balls, has adjustable tee heights, automated ball cleaning and distribution and more. Check it out:
This really cool putter from DiXX Blue has an analytical computer in the head of the putter! It records your putting strokes and shows you your swing path, lie and many other great information to help your stroke.
What’s in a name?
I’m not really sure what they were thinking when they came up with their company name though. I’d recommend something that doesn’t sound like “dicks blue.” Just a thought.
Today I’m on the plane from the frozen tundra of Salt Lake, to the warmth of Orlando and the 2008 PGA Merchandise show. My blog is automatically posting this note while I travel.

I’ve been video taping my swing for many years. I’ve rigged up many contraptions to get my camera set up in the best spot to tape the swing. Tripods are the best plan but hauling a big tripod to the driving range and onto the course isn’t very convenient.
The Golf Video Perch by Makaw is a perfect solution for easily and quickly setting up video or still cameras to capture everything from your golf swing to your kid’s school Christmas program.
Mounting
The Golf Video Perch first has a clamp for attaching the unit to a golf bag, golf cart or anything which is up to about 1.5 inches thick. The clamp has some nice thick rubber padding so it won’t damage your golf bag. I’ve clamped my Golf Video Perch onto several different golf bags, golf carts, golf hand carts, counter tops, my car window etc.
Just before Christmas I was very pleased to be able to use the mount while trying to get decent video of my kids’ school Christmas program. My standard tripod is about six feet tall when fully extended. With hundreds of parents jockeying for photo position and walking by, half the Christmas program would have been the back of peoples’ heads if not for my Video Perch. I found a piece of a temporary wall which was just the right thickness for me to mount the perch on. I got on a chair and mounted my video camera on this piece of wall about eight feet up in the air. My video was flawless and the people walking in front of me didn’t get in the way of my camera.

Columbus went around the world in 1492. That isn't a lot of strokes when you consider the course.
