I’ve had a poll up and running for quite some time on the front page here which asked the question “What is the best airline for golf travel?” I’ve finally decided to end that poll and post the astounding results, which I completely agree with. Here they are below.
- US Airways (4%)
- United Airlines (5%)
- Southwest Airlines (60%)
- Jetblue Airlines (10%)
- Delta Airlines (8%)
- Continental Airlines (1%)
- British Airways (3%)
- American Airlines (10%)
Southwest Airlines resoundingly won with 60% of the voters picking them. The closest competitor was Jetblue airlines at only 10%.
I agree with this vote based on the two following primary reasons:
- Cost: Southwest is very competitive price-wise. Golf is expensive and we can travel more if the airfare is more affordable.
- Free baggage: To bring my golf clubs on Delta or another airline that charges for bags can run an extra $50-$150!!! That’s highway (airway) robbery.

The big HOG World Tour vacation is currently in London. I did not bring my sticks on this trip, just my cameras. Enjoy this one…
Big Ben front right
My trip is coming to an end and I’m sad about that, but happy to be heading home in a couple of days and getting back to golf blogging!
Well there isn’t a more picturesque place in the world than the fabulous island of Santorini, Greece. This is a bucket list travel destination without a doubt.
Just after sunset the lighting is unbelievable!
The HOG World Tour spend a couple of days here on a photo safari. My shutter finger is quite sore now.
Santorini Church and Cruise Ship
Despite the unrest here in Greece with their financial crisis, tourists can still enjoy a vacation so long as they stay away from the rallies and areas shut down in Athens.
I’m on vacation in Greece.
Greetings From Athens, Greece
No golf clubs, just my Nikon and the best hat scripting ever to hit Athens. Talk soon.
I had quite an enjoyable round yesterday at the Mountain Dell Canyon Course, between Salt Lake City and Park City, Utah in Emigration Canyon. The Canyon course is one of two courses on the property, and the one I prefer.
I had some spectacular shots yesterday. One was a punch 8-iron from under a tree in the right rough on the par-4 9th. The ball ended up 12 inches. Birdie. The next one was a punch 9-iron from 145 (lots of wind), from a severe side-hill lie. That 3rd shot on the par-5 14th astonishingly didn’t go in. It must have lipped out for eagle. The ball was TWO inches behind the hole. Birdie.
I had some other fantastic shots after the round, via my golf aerial photo/video hexacopter drone.
