I had a fun evening tonight for my first night in Orlando for the PGA Show at the Nike media event. Sitting on the front row I joined some of golf’s big independent entities like Into The Grain, Sandbox8 and the Hacker’s Paradise to watch Nike Golf president Cindy Davis address the media. The key concept for Nike golf is “speed.” Nike is going to conduct “speed trials” where players can be measured for speed (and thus distance) with their own clubs, the compared to recommended Nike clubs.

Nike brought in athletes Suzanne Petterson, Sterling Sharp and Ken Griffey Jr. to show how they’re able to increase their “speed” and thus their distance.

Like most golfers, I’ll try anything to save a few strokes. The lamp shade thing didn’t work too well last week. It was worth a try…
My desk: keyboard, mouse, coffee, chipotle wing sauce, Ruez undies… What? This isn’t a normal desk?
New across my desk here at HOG World Headquarters and newly added to the review queue are two pairs of undies from Ruez Performance Underwear (above).
Ruez’s underwear features a “performance pouch” and moisture wicking fabric which “brings a comfortable, clever end to chafing, sweating and adjusting.”
Well I can say this. I’ve been working out at the gym lately. I’m just sayin’…. And as was evident in my Potty Putter photo shoot, I’m not afraid to take pics of myself in my undies or less and post them on the internets.
That being said, I’m NOT going to stuff my performance pouch like the promo photo seen right.
The latest driver added to the review queue here at Hooked On Golf Blog is the new Tour Edge Exotics XCG5 driver. This is a 460cc driver with ultra-mega-light 43 gram shaft. In my first round with it, I hit the longest drive of the group and hit every fairway with it.
Disclaimer: my group had two players and we played three holes. I only hit the driver once…
