I was looking at my stats for January and apparently my tireless blogging about golf is paying off. Last month Hooked On Golf Blog topped 2,300,000 hits by over 130,000 unique visitors. That is HUGE for a little old golf blog.
TGS Stats
The Golf Space, my other golf site, was no slouch either. TGS is a golf social networking site, free to join. There are currently about 5,600 members. That site had about 985,000 hits by 56,000 unique visitors.
Totals
Combine my two golf sites and we are at 3.2 million hits by roughly 200,000 unique visitors for January. I’m well on my way to a free round of golf at Augusta National… right.
YouTube Golf Videos
Another media outlet I is the HOG/TGS YouTube channel. Currently the golf videos there have been viewed over 3.1 million times.
I’m busy nailing down sponsors for the 2011 HOG Space Fantasy Golf league. The season starts February 10th with the AT&T Pro-Am at Pebble Beach. Sign up now, it is free and this week is a designated practice round so you can figure out how to do it. This year there will be some great golf prizes so you don’t want to miss out.

My buddies at Bridgestone Golf were doing some cool stuff at this year’s PGA Show. They had live webcams all over their booth, showing the action, the golf stars stopping by and the live ball fittings etc. But where was all that live digital media being collected and distributed to cyberspace? After an all night session of cutting up HD video tape with a dull razor blade and splicing it back together with impact tape, I’ve finally published the promo trailer for the soon to be hit movie Battle Of The Golf Blogs.
This year was to be a tie breaker year between myself and Dave Lair, the Orlando Golf Blogger. Unfortunately I had to withdraw from the tournament. I didn’t withdraw because of personal and PR issues with me and Natalie Gulbis like Dustin Johnson did, I withdrew because I separated my shoulder in a freak ski crash five feet from my car in the parking lot at Alta.
Competitor #2 was my buddy John Duval from Into The Grain. John is a hell of a stick, and can hit a long ball.
Competitor #3 was my pal Rob Hayashida from Sandbox8, one of the web’s best. Rob is a good guy and a great golf blogger.
Many thanks to our hosts for the 2nd year in a row, Falcon’s Fire Golf Club, for putting up with our taking over the golf course. Thanks to the course marshal Anthony for not kicking me out when he caught me chasing the indigenous life forms around with one arm in a sling and a GoPro HD cam in the opposite hand.
