Hurricane Irene cuts Barclays / FedEx Cup playoff round one to 54 holes

Hurricane Irene is closing in on the east coast and has caused the PGA Tour to cut the first segment of the FedEx Cup playoffs to 54 holes. The Barclays will have a Friday cut as normal, and Saturday’s round will be the final round.

“We do everything we possibly can to get 72 holes by Sunday.  Unfortunately, Irene is not cooperating.” ~Slugger White, PGA Tour vice president of rules and competition
