I’m getting some emails from companies and individuals who are wondering when I’ll get around to reviewing the gear they sent in so I thought it would be good to make a statement about my current situation.
1. I live in Salt Lake City, Utah, home of the winter Olympics in 2002. This is not Florida. It isn’t 80 and sunny here yet. It is still winter. In fact, it is snowing right now. The courses are open on and off as the snow comes and melts. Playing conditions aren’t the greatest. For instance yesterday the courses were open, but we had winds strong enough to blow my BBQ over and it was about 35 degrees. With wind chill that makes the temperature -1,000,000 degrees. Not good for golf.
2. I separated my shoulder about 2.5 months ago and I’m still recovering. I’m hoping that if the sun comes out and the temps rise enough, that I may gingerly attempt a golf shot today for the first time in months. There is still some pain and lack of flexibility and it is driving me nuts not being able to swing a club.
3. I’ve moved recently, and as a result my bad back (scoliosis) really got bad. For the last two weeks I’ve been in muscle spasms and such pain that I can’t even take a gallon of milk off the shelf and put it into a grocery cart without yelping. The spasms have stopped, but I’m still stiff. I’m going to a new doctor TODAY to have another examination and discussion as to what to do with my back.
I hope that as spring comes and the temps rise, I’ll be getting fully back into the swing. I have quite a bit of gear to test, including 4-5 drivers, several sets of irons, hybrids, putters and about a million accessories. Oh, how about 5-6 pairs of golf shoes?
I’m going crazy not being able to do my gig, but hopefully soon all will be as it should be and I’ll be back on track.
