adidas has long provided some of the best athletic shoes, apparel and accessories in sport. From golf shoes to Muay Thai training apparel, adidas has some of the highest quality, highest performance and most comfortable offerings available.
As of January 2008 adidas has added the “adivista” line of golf specific eyewear. Just as adidas’ apparel and shoe offerings, the adivista line is comfortable, stylish, high performance, and provides protection for a part of golfers’ bodies which often goes unnoticed.
Technology
The first thing sunglasses need to do is protect. The adivista lenses provide full protection from UV A, B and C rays and blue light. Blue light can cause macular degeneration.

I’ve really loved the performance of many Bridgestone golf balls. The B330 and B330-S as well as the E5 and E6 have provided me with great performance on the course. I have a new ball to add to the list from Bridgestone, the “TreoSoft.”

Technology
The TreoSoft is a two piece ball, meaning it has a large core and an outer cover. The core employs some very cool and innovative technology. Rather than being one density throughout, the core changes in density from center out. This “soft gradational compression” results in more energy transfer at impact and helps moderate swing golfers gain more distance. Despite having what some would call a “hard” cover, I can attest that this core gives the TreoSoft an extremely soft feel.

A quick post from road on the HOG world tour
Greetings from Las Vegas. Just played Reflection Bay today. The TPC of Vegas is tomorrow and then I’ll be back to HOG world headquarters for more regular golf blogging.
Natalie Gulbis’ House
I saw Natalie Gulbis’ house today. I knocked on her door to ask her face to face why she hasn’t returned my phone calls. Nobody home.
105 in the shade
It is hot here.

I got back from my California vacation Friday night. Yesterday I had enough time to get my stuff ready to head to Vegas today. I’m there for 2.5 days golfing and doing some golf travel industry research for upcoming golf travel blogs I’ll be writing here. I’ll be hanging out with my friends from Las Vegas Golf Adventures, playing golf at the TPC of Las Vegas as well as the Jack Nicklaus designed Reflection Bay in Lake Las Vegas . If you haven’t been to Lake Las Vegas you should put it on your list. What a beautiful and neat place. Obviously, I’ll have a TON of photos posted later in the week.
Best Food In Las Vegas?
I’ll be eating at my favorite restaraunt in the world tonight (and probably tomorrow night), Batista’s Hole In The Wall. Lasagna (best ever), Italian salad, garlic bread, cheap house wine and awesome cappuccino are my choice. All that great Italian food and the ambiance of having “Gordy” the accordian player playing at your table. It doesn’t get any better.
Whenever Gordy comes up to the table and asks for a request, I always ask for “The Flight Of The Bumble Bee.” Anyone who knows that tune knows you’d have to be a virtuoso musician to play it. Instead, Gordy busts out “The Godfather” theme and sticks the according close to your ears and says “feel the bass.” I can’t wait.

Golfers and tree huggers unite
Get out your granola bars and your organic raisins. Now you can convert your golf cart to a more “green” version by installing this $1900 solar panel to the roof.
Al Gore was spotted golfing with one of these carts last week and is proposing that golfers receive carbon offsets if they install the unit on their golf carts.
Solar Golf Cart
Go Green and save money with a solar powered golf cart. It is easy to convert your Club Car DS or E-Z-GO Med/TXT to solar power for a fraction of the cost of a new solar golf cart. For every one and three-quarters hours that the golf cart is outside in peak sun, it will go one mile (an average of 5 miles a day) without being plugged in. The cart becomes a portable electric generator-what a benefit for campers in remote areas! Using solar rather than fossil fuel power on the golf cart reduces the CO2 released into the air by 452 pounds per year. For an individual, your return on investment is 20% in the first year. Further, take a 30% deduction off your Federal income taxes for going solar; in many states, the solar purchase is also exempt from sales tax. SoCal
Greetings from Annaheim California. I’ve been hanging down here on the beach for a few days, taking a very needed vacation with my kids. I’m a bit sunburned in the non golf-tan areas like the tops of my feet and my scalp!
About the picture on the right: I have my Bobby Jones hat on to protect my burned scalp, my new Adidas sunglasses (review coming soon), my King Golf Royal T shirt, my Otterbox 3500 case to protect my valuables from the sand and sea, and my Taylormade Backpack to carry it all in!
Yesterday found us at Knott’s Berry Farm, riding all the awesome roller coasters. Today we’ll be back south at Laguna Beach. Tomorrow it is looking like perhaps the San Diego Zoo, or maybe checking out LA, Beverly Hills and Hollywood. It has been a while since I pulled into Ricardo Montalban’s driveway and yelled “Khaaaaaaaaaaaannnnn!”
My hotel’s free internet connection has been down about 50% of the time I’ve been here, but strangely the $10/day connection seems to be up and running fine. So my blog posts have been a bit more sparse than normal.
Vegas next
I get home Friday night about midnight. I have enough time Saturday to wash the sand out of my clothes for my departure on Sunday. I’m heading to Vegas to spend some time with my friends at Las Vegas Golf Adventures. I’m going to be evaluating and blogging about their services, checking out Harrah’s and evaluating out two Vegas golf courses: Reflection Bay and the TPC of Las Vegas.

The last time my buddy Luke Swilor and I squared off in the famous “Guru/Swilor Three – The Redemption” match, Luke was not hitting on all cylinders. In fact, if he were a V6, I’d say four of his injectors were clogged.
Now Luke is on a roll, dropping rounds in the 60’s and notching top-5 finishes on the Canadian Tour. I’m very happy to see Luke putting it together. It looks like he’s got his Canadian Tour card for 2009 locked up.
Hey Luke, when you get back home after so many months of playing up in the great white north, are you going to be saying “what’s that all aboot, aye?”

When I saw the Clicgear golf cart at this year’s PGA Show I’d really hoped to get my hands on one for a review. That I’m working on, but for now my pal Deep Rough has a very good article on the Clicgear 2.0 golf push cart as part of the Deep Rough “push cart round up.”
That cart looks beefy but I saw them folded up and they’re surprisingly compact as well.

In this post, The Golf Chick tells of a playing parnter’s tan line tragedy. Her partner apparently golfs enough to have what my friends and I affectionately call a “golfer’s tan.” A golfer’s tan would be a tan face, tan arms and tan legs. Kristen says “don’t let this happen to you.” I respectfully disagree.
Tragedy or triumph?
I do not consider this a tragedy at all. The more defined a golfer’s tan line the more triumphant and impressive it is. I just shot my feet here in my hotel room in Southern California to show how impressive my golf tan is. Keep in mind I’ve been out in the sun for a couple of days in my flip-flops so the white part of my feet has tanned a bit. The distinction between my white feet and tan legs was even greater a few days ago.
