I’m packing my last few items, getting ready to jump on a plane to Palm Springs in a few hours to attend the Pro Sports Team Challenge. I’ll be quite busy early in the day tomorrow (Friday the 6th of June) in the Pro-Am, so I’m posting now to strongly suggest heading to the Team Challenge web site and sign up to be a “ProCoach.”

About ProCoaches

As a ProCoach (free by the way), you can influence the outcome of the matches being played by the superstar athletes on the golf course. Never before have fans had the ability to influence the outcome of a sporting event from the comfort of their own beer stained, popcorn in the cracks couches.

What is ProCoaching?

It is the function that is integral to the fantasy-to-reality sports revolution.

Team Challenge will provide fans with the one-of-a-kind opportunity to become ProCoaches, fan-players who make real strategy decisions in a golf tournament using the Internet or mobile texting.

Fans strategize and get together in The Locker Room to weigh in on their choices. These features are derived from a patent-pending proprietary application known as Strat.e.Golf.

Registered ProCoaches are eligible to be a part of one of the 4 sports teams (baseball, basketball, football, hockey). Through caucusing and a simple majority vote, the ProCoach chooses the 2X player, the player in each round whose point total will be doubled.

With 3 rounds of team match play on the first day of competition and one skins match on the second day, there will be 4 separate 2X selections.

Once these selections are made, team captains select the order of play and pairings for each round by sealed submissions, similar to Ryder Cup practices after the ProCoach selections have been disclosed to the Team Captains.

A fan who pays a one-time $10 fee and registers as a VIP ProCoach receives benefits not available to other ProCoaches.

* A VIP ProCoach will receive a special ProCoach Certificate signed by the Team Captain and a photo autographed by your team.
* Only VIP ProCoaches can participate in the Team Challenge Trivia Contest described below.
* $1.00 of your fee goes directly to the designated charity for your team in addition to the guaranteed purse.

There are 2 skill contests for registered ProCoaches where prizes are awarded to those of you most qualified to be coaching.

* The Strat.EQ Championship, which measures your Strat.EQ during the Team Challenge, is open to both registered ProCoaches (no purchase necessary) and VIP Pro Coaches (who pay a $10.00 registration fee). The better your strategy, the higher your Strat.EQ – the higher your Strat.EQ, the better your rewards! Strat.EQ Championship Grand Prize for highest overall Strat.EQ- Fantasy-to-Fantasy Getaway, i.e. an all expense paid trip for 2 as a VIP guest to our host resort, The Fantasy Springs Resort & Casino in Palm Springs, CA, to include accommodations for 4 days, 3 nights, and air fare from continental US. Grand prizes for the highest Strat.EQ scores at team level (excluding the overall winner) are 2 tickets to a regular season sporting contest for your local team in your sport. Gift certificates and merchandise from sponsors starting at $100 (3d-5th places) to $25 (5th -25th places) will be awarded to the best of the rest.
* The Team Challenge Trivia Contest is available only to VIP Pro Coaches. Sports trivia questions will be served up each day. Highest accuracy and shortest timing will determine winning scores. There are 4 Grand Prizes offered. The highest score at the team level will entitle each winner to receive an all expense paid trip to serve as The Honorary Team Captain at next year’s Team Challenge. Package includes airfare (from continental US), accommodations, and a spot in the celebrity Pro-Am. 4 Runner–up prizes will also be offered at the team level. The “You Pick Tix” prizes entitles the winner to a weekend trip for 2 to a city of your choice (continental US) to see a regular season game for your team. Package includes airfare, accommodations for 2 nights and game tickets for 2. Gift certificates and merchandise from sponsors starting at $100 (3d-5th places) to $25 (5th -25th places) will be awarded to the best of the rest.

At the end of the tournament, all ProCoaches will be assigned a Strat.EQ, a measurement of his or her coaching ability through both the accuracy of the 2X Player selection and the performance of those selections on the course.
