Another “the race to” tournament… just great
The world’s richest golf tournament in 2009 will be in Dubai. A $10 million purse with a $1.66 million prize for first place is the prize money. This is the European Tour’s answer to the FedEx Cup. The European Order Of Merit will be renamed to “The Race to Dubai” and the winner of TRTD will receive a $2 million check, not deferred like the FedEx cup payoff.
No wonder Tiger Woods spends to much time in Dubai. That’s where all the dough is.
Who came up with the corny “The Race To…” tournament concept anyway? It’s really nauseating.
