There’s a new network for golf, targeting viewers in golf retail outlets. This network is called “The Golf Network.” “TGN”’s is the first and only digital television network to go into golf retail shops. Their press release below says there’ll be 4,000,000 eyeballs watching monthly. Now does that mean 2,000,000 viewers since each one has presumably has two eyeballs? I digress.
TGN won’t be broadcasting golf tournaments, but it will have golf related features and can even have specially targeted broadcasts for particular audiences in specific areas. The cool thing is that golf retailers can make sure they have content they like being broadcast in their stores, without having their competitor’s ads in it!
Thanks to this year’s sponsors! Please CLICK THEIR LINKS BELOW AND SUPPORT THEM! (Still working on 2nd place)
Drum roll please…

My very good pal Luke Swilor is a local guy who is working his way up to the PGA Tour. He’s playing mini tours and trying to pay the bills with dough he makes as a pro golfer.
TWO in a row!
Luke Just notched his 2nd 1st place finish in a row so I raise my frosty beverage in a toast to Luke’s continued success.
New Lukeation
Luke’s blog has moved to a new location. If you have him on your blogroll be sure to update it to http://blog.lukeswilor.com/ and if you don’t have him blogrolled, do so now!
Nike is coming out with the new Sumo SQ Sasquatch square driver. Callaway has the square FT-i driver. Many other golf companies which I visited with at the PGA Show are rushing to the CAD station to draft up square models of their drivers and woods to jump on the bandwagon.
Does square really make a difference? The club face is still the same isn’t it? How much better can the balance, the MOI, the COG and other technologies in a driver (or other club) head get without breaking USGA and R&A regulations?
The latest Hooked On Golf Blog poll has closed. Though the top 31% of the voters understand the FedEx Cup, that leaves 69% who either don’t understand it or somewhat understand it.
I just found one more video from my time at the TaylorMade booth in the 2007 PGA Merchandise Show. So this one is the final TaylorMade video I have.
In this video Brian explains the TaylorMade Burner driver. The Burner is the “bomber’s” version of their two drivers and the brother to the TaylorMade r7 SuperQuad driver.
There are also still pictures of the TaylorMade Burner and TaylorMade r7 SuperQuad in the HOG Photo Gallery.
