From a purist standpoint this course, even though beautiful to the eye, leaves a lot to be desired for the pure golfer. Just walking to some of the tees from the cart is a pure challenge. Not for the pro or the < 30 golfer. It is a shame they did to the course. It could truly be a golf experience, yet they felt they had to trick it up with extreme elevation changes not to see if you had the required shot....but the ability to come from another area with known distances of clubs to lighter air where the club goes farther and add that to an equation that most traveling golfers struggle with. It is not all about slope....but enjoyment. Playing on a partially injured knee I now require knee surgery just from walking up and down to the tee boxes. If going to the Mesquite area for a golf trip I would strongly recommend the Ledges and Coral Canyon in St. George Utah. Every bit as visual but not tricked up to attain a slope. This is a course built for professionals not the everyday golfer, or the golfer that enjoys golf for golf.

Mesquite is one of the most comfortable places to play golf in the United States. The winter months make golfing a pleasure in the small town atmosphere of Mesquite Nevada.
